The best playdough recipe
We make our own playdough because it’s a fun and easy project for the kids. They learn to measure and follow cooking instructions and then get some heavy work while playing with dough!
This is our favorite recipe. The dough lasts forever, and it’s not sticky! We hope you enjoy this project.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup salt
- 4 tsp cream of tartar
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Food coloring of your choice
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
2. Add water and oil to the dry ingredients, stirring constantly over medium heat.
3. Continue stirring until the mixture forms a ball of dough and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
4. Remove from heat and allow the dough to cool until it's safe to handle.
5. Divide the dough into smaller portions for different colors (if desired) and add a few drops of food coloring to each portion. Knead the dough until the color is evenly distributed.
6. Your homemade playdough is now ready for play. Store the playdough in an airtight container or plastic bag to keep it fresh and soft for future use.
Enjoy creating with your homemade playdough!
